1. Service Description
Zakat Book for Android ("App") is developed by LynxApps ("we," "us," "our") and provides tools to help Muslim users calculate and track their annual Zakat obligation. The App fetches live gold and silver market prices and performs on-device calculations. All personal and financial data is stored locally on your device.
2. Religious Guidance Disclaimer
Important: Zakat calculations provided by this App are for guidance and personal record-keeping only. They do not constitute a religious ruling (fatwa). For matters of religious compliance, please consult a qualified Islamic scholar or your local mosque. LynxApps makes no representation as to the religious acceptability of any specific calculation or output.
3. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on Android devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Google Play's Terms of Service. You may not:
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Rent, lease, or lend the App to others
- Remove or alter copyright or proprietary notices
- Use the App for commercial purposes without permission

Subscription terms:
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- All transactions are processed by Google Play Billing
- Refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy
- Manage or cancel anytime via Google Play → Subscriptions
5. Data Handling & Privacy
Your financial data is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared — it is processed entirely on your device. We collect limited technical data (device info, crash reports, anonymous usage analytics, and advertising identifiers) through third-party services (Firebase, Google Mobile Ads). 6. Accuracy Disclaimer
The App uses live market data for gold and silver prices from third-party providers. While we strive for accuracy, LynxApps does not guarantee that prices, Nisab thresholds, or Zakat calculations are error-free or up to date. You are solely responsible for verifying your Zakat obligation with appropriate religious and financial advisors.
7. User Responsibilities
- Use the App only for legitimate, lawful purposes
- Do not attempt to circumvent the App's purchase enforcement
- Ensure you have a backup of your data before clearing or uninstalling
- Verify Zakat calculations with a qualified scholar as appropriate
- Keep your Google account secure
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, that market data will be continuously available, or that it will function on all devices or Android versions. Metal price feeds may be delayed or temporarily unavailable.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for subscriptions or in-app purchases in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $0 if you used only the free version. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, data loss, calculation errors, or religious non-compliance.
10. Intellectual Property
The App, including all code, design, graphics, and features, is owned by LynxApps and protected by copyright. All rights are reserved. You retain all rights to your personal data entered into the App. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or use our branding without permission.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms, at our discretion, or as required by law. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete it from your device.
12. Third-Party Services
The App uses Google Play for subscriptions and billing, Firebase (by Google) for anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting, Google Mobile Ads for ad delivery, and third-party market data providers for live metal prices. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be available at /zakatbook-android/terms. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law in your country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
