Your financial data never leaves your device. Zakat Book for Android is local-first — all asset data, Zakat calculations, and payment records are stored only on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any financial information on our servers.
1. Who We Are
LynxApps ("we," "us," "our") develops Zakat Book for Android ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected when you use the App and how it is handled.
2. Financial & Personal Data
All financial data you enter — including asset values, gold and silver holdings, cash amounts, investments, debts, and Zakat payment records — is stored exclusively on your device. This data is never uploaded, transmitted, or accessible to LynxApps or any third party. No account or registration is required to use the App.
3. Analytics and Crash Reporting
The App uses Firebase (by Google) for two purposes in release builds:
- Firebase Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated usage events such as "scan started", "calculation completed", or "report generated". No financial amounts, asset values, names, or personal data are ever included in analytics events. Analytics fire only in release builds, not in debug builds.
- Firebase Crashlytics: If the App crashes, a report containing device model, Android version, app version, and a stack trace is sent. No financial data or personal information is included in crash reports.
Firebase data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Advertising
Free users see ads served by Google Mobile Ads. Premium subscribers see no ads.
- Google Mobile Ads: May collect device identifiers (advertising ID) and device information for ad personalization. An App Tracking Transparency / UMP consent prompt is shown at first launch — you choose how your advertising ID is used.
Ad data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can reset or opt out of ad personalization at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
5. Live Metal Prices
The App fetches real-time gold and silver spot prices from a third-party market data provider. These requests contain no personal or financial data — only a request for the current price. Your asset quantities are never sent externally.
6. In-App Purchases
All Premium subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are processed by Google Play Billing. LynxApps never sees or stores your payment details. Purchase validation happens through Google's secure billing infrastructure.
7. App Permissions
- Camera / Photo storage: Optional. Used only to attach receipt photos to Zakat payment records. Photos are stored on your device and never uploaded.
- Internet: Required to fetch live gold & silver prices and to serve ads to free users. No financial data is sent over the network.
- Notifications: Optional. Used to send Hawl reminders before your Islamic lunar year ends. You control this in Android Settings.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
All your Zakat data is stored locally on your device and is never replicated to our servers. To delete your data:
- Use the "Clear all data" option in App Settings to erase all local records.
- Uninstall the App to permanently remove all local App data.
9. Security
The App relies on Android's built-in security model. App data is stored in the app's private sandbox, protected by Android's file-level encryption on supported devices. No financial data is transmitted over the network.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA / Other)
- Access: All your data is on your device and visible within the App at any time.
- Deletion: Delete all data via App Settings → Clear all data, or uninstall the App.
- No data sale: We do not sell personal data.
- Ad opt-out: Manage ad personalization in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, or through the in-app consent prompt.
- Analytics opt-out: Anonymous analytics are governed by Firebase; refer to Google's privacy controls.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
