Your receipts never leave your device. Receipt Digitizer captures and processes receipts entirely on-device using on-device OCR. We do not upload your receipt images, financial data, or amounts to any server.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Receipt Digitizer ("App"), developed by LynxApps ("we," "us," "our"), handles your information. Receipt Digitizer lets you photograph receipts, digitize them using optical character recognition (OCR), and organize expenses into categories — all processed locally on your device.
2. Information Stored On Your Device
The following is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to our servers:
- Receipt images captured via camera or imported from your photo library
- Extracted transaction details (merchant, amount, date)
- Your categorized expenses and custom categories
This data is stored on-device using CoreData with device-level encryption.
3. Information We Explicitly Do Not Collect

4. Information Collected Automatically
To keep the App reliable and improve it, limited technical data is collected via third-party services:
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: app launches, feature usage, crash reports, and device specifications
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): a device advertising identifier, coarse/general location, and app events used to serve ads in the free version
- Support contact (optional): if you email us, we receive the email address and any details you choose to share

6. Your Rights & Choices
- Access: view all your data directly within the App
- Delete: remove any receipt at any time, or uninstall the App to remove all local data
- Export: export your data in standard formats, including PDF (Pro feature)
- Ad controls: disable personalized ads and reset your advertising identifier in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security
7. Legal Compliance
We aim to comply with applicable privacy laws, including:
- GDPR (European Union / EEA)
- CCPA/CPRA (California, USA)
- PIPEDA (Canada)
- LGPD (Brazil)
This includes data subject access rights. We respond to verified privacy requests within applicable legal timeframes (typically 30–45 days).
8. Data Security
Because your receipts and expense data remain on your device, they are protected by your device's built-in security and encryption. Analytics and ad data transmitted to third parties are sent over encrypted connections.
9. Children's Privacy
Receipt Digitizer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
