Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

InspectKit is developed by LynxApps ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use InspectKit on iPhone or iPad.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

All inspection content lives locally on your device:

• Inspections and findings: Client details, property info, checklist results, notes, severity ratings -- stored in SwiftData in the app sandbox.
• Photos and annotations: Stored in the app sandbox. Photo evidence stamps (date, time, address, GPS coordinates) are burned into the image and stored with it on your device. Camera frames are never uploaded anywhere.
• Video clips: Stored on your device in the app's local storage only (not in iCloud, not synced to other devices). They are included in your normal iOS device backup. Clips are deleted when you delete the finding or inspection they belong to.
• Voice notes: Audio files and transcripts stored locally. Transcription happens on-device using Apple's speech recognition -- no audio is sent to any external server.
• PDF reports: Generated and stored locally; shared only when you explicitly share them via the system share sheet.
• Business profile: Your company name, logo, signature, and contact details -- stored locally, used only to populate your reports.
• Settings: Language preference, photo stamp toggle, notification preferences, and other app settings stored in UserDefaults.

3. iCloud Sync (Pro Feature)

When you enable iCloud sync, InspectKit stores your inspections, findings, photos, and reports in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit private database. This data is:

• Stored in your iCloud account, encrypted by Apple
• Accessible only to you on devices signed in to the same Apple ID
• Not accessible by LynxApps
• Governed by Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy

Video clips are explicitly excluded from iCloud sync by design -- they never count against your iCloud storage quota. They remain on the device where they were recorded and are included in your normal iOS device backup.

4. Photo Location Data

When you take a new photo inside InspectKit, the app requests "When In Use" location permission to obtain your current GPS coordinates and reverse-geocode them into a street address. This location data is:

• Used only to create the evidence stamp burned into that photo
• Stored with the photo on your device (and in iCloud if you have sync enabled)
• Never transmitted to LynxApps or any third party
• Not used for advertising or tracking of any kind

For library photos, InspectKit reads EXIF GPS metadata already embedded in the photo. If a library photo has no EXIF GPS, no location stamp is added. You can disable evidence stamps at any time in Settings > Photos > "Stamp Date & Location".

5. On-Device AI

On devices running iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence, InspectKit can rewrite finding notes and generate templates using Apple Foundation Models. All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No finding content, notes, or voice transcripts are ever sent to LynxApps or any third-party AI service. LynxApps does not operate an AI backend for InspectKit.

6. Analytics and Crash Reporting

InspectKit uses Firebase (by Google) for two purposes in release builds:

• Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated event data such as "inspection created", "report shared", "template used". No inspection content, client names, property addresses, finding details, photos, or voice content is ever included in analytics events.
• Crashlytics: If the app crashes, a report containing device model, iOS version, and a stack trace is sent. No personal data, inspection content, or photos are included in crash reports.

Analytics events are fired only from release (App Store / TestFlight) builds, not from debug or simulator builds. Firebase data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

7. App Permissions

InspectKit may request the following permissions:

• Camera: To capture photos and record video for findings. Frames and recordings are processed on-device and never uploaded.
• Microphone: To record voice notes. Audio is processed on-device for transcription and never sent to external servers.
• Location (When In Use): To obtain GPS coordinates and reverse-geocode them into a street address for photo evidence stamps. Requested when you open the camera inside InspectKit. Used only at the moment of capture; not tracked in the background.
• Photo Library: To let you add existing photos or video from your library to findings.
• Notifications: To send optional inspection reminders before a scheduled inspection date. You control this in iOS Settings and can decline it during onboarding.

8. In-App Purchases

Pro subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. LynxApps never sees or stores your payment details. Purchase receipt validation happens on-device.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data exists only on your device (and in your iCloud account if sync is enabled). To delete it:

• Delete individual inspections, findings, photos, or video clips from within the app at any time.
• Delete the app from your device to permanently remove all local InspectKit data, including video clips and cached data.
• If iCloud sync is enabled, deleting data in the app also removes it from iCloud.

10. Security

InspectKit relies on iOS's built-in security model. App data is stored in the app sandbox, encrypted at rest by iOS data protection. No inspection content, photos, or video clips are transmitted over the network except when you explicitly share them via the system share sheet.

11. Children's Privacy

InspectKit is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

12. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because InspectKit stores all personal data locally on your device (or in your own iCloud):

• Access: All your inspection data is visible within the app at any time.
• Deletion: Delete individual records in-app, or delete the app entirely to remove all data.
• No data sale: We do not sell personal data.
• Location opt-out: Deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings at any time; evidence stamps will fall back to date/time-only.
• Notification opt-out: Disable inspection reminders at any time in iOS Settings or InspectKit Settings.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
