Getting Started

Which Android versions are supported?

InspectKit for Android requires Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later. The exact requirements will also be listed on the Google Play Store page at launch.

How do I create my first inspection?

Tap the add button on the Inspections screen. Choose a template, fill in the client and property details, then work through the checklist. You can reuse a past client in a tap.

What inspection templates are available?

InspectKit includes 19 built-in templates covering home, building, commercial property, roof, HVAC, solar panel, rental move-in and move-out, punch list, vehicle fleet, safety audit, land and lot, and more. You can also create custom templates for any inspection type.

Can I add items mid-inspection?

Yes. You can add custom items to an inspection while you work. Custom items appear in the summary and report for that inspection only. The underlying template is not changed.

Findings and Reports

How do I add photos to a finding?

Open a finding and add a photo from the camera or your photo library. Photos are linked to that specific finding and appear in the report alongside it.

What is finding severity?

When you flag a finding, you can rate it as Minor, Major, or Safety. Severity is descriptive only and does not change the completion of a section.

How does severity appear in the report?

The Recommendations section sorts findings from highest severity to lowest, adds a severity tag next to each item, and shows a tally so clients immediately see the risk profile.

How do I generate a report?

Open a completed inspection and generate the report. InspectKit compiles your findings, photos, and inspection details into a PDF, which you can share from the share sheet.

Can I customize my reports?

Yes (Pro feature). Add your logo, company name, signature, and footer text in your business profile. These appear on every report automatically. Free-tier reports include a watermark, and Pro removes it.

What language is the report printed in?

The report is printed in the app language you have selected when you generate it. Templates, section headings, and report text are available in English, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Portuguese.

Languages

Which languages does InspectKit support?

English, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Portuguese. You can change the language in Settings, and the app, built-in templates, and reports update to match.

Data and Backup

Does my data sync to the cloud?

No. Your inspections, photos, and reports are stored on your device. The App does not sync to any cloud service, and it does not use Google's automatic cloud backup.

How do I back up my data?

Use the backup option in Settings to export your inspections as a JSON file, and save it somewhere safe, such as your Google Drive or another storage location you trust. You can import the file later on the same or another device. Import skips duplicate inspections, so importing the same file twice is safe.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

All local data is removed when you uninstall the App. Export a JSON backup before uninstalling if you want to keep your inspections.

Subscriptions

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free: 1 inspection and 1 report. Photo findings, finding severity, all 19 templates plus custom templates, and 5 languages are included.

Pro: unlimited inspections, unlimited watermark-free reports, and custom branding (logo, signature, and footer). Pro is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase.

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Open the upgrade option in the App and choose Monthly, Annual, or Lifetime. Purchases are processed by Google Play.

How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?

Sign in to the same Google account on the new device, open InspectKit, and use the restore option in the App. Your Pro access is tied to your Google Play account, not to the device.

How do I cancel my subscription?

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Tap your profile icon (top right)
  3. Select Payments & subscriptions
  4. Tap Subscriptions
  5. Find InspectKit and tap Cancel subscription

You keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period. For refund requests, visit Google Play's refund page.
