Your inspection data stays on your device. Inspections, findings, photos, client details, and reports are stored locally on your Android device. We do not operate a server that receives your inspection content.
1. Who We Are
LynxApps ("we," "us," "our") develops InspectKit for Android ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
Everything you enter is stored in the App's private storage on your device, including:
- Inspections, checklist results, findings, and severity ratings
- Client and property details
- Photos attached to findings
- Your business profile, such as company name, logo, signature, and contact details, used only to fill in your reports
- App settings, such as language and reminder preferences
This data is not uploaded to us or to any third party. No account, sign-in, or registration is required.
3. Analytics and Crash Reporting
The App uses Firebase (by Google) in release builds for two purposes:
- Firebase Analytics: A small set of anonymous usage events, such as an inspection being created, a report being generated, or a template being used. Events never include client names, property addresses, finding notes, photos, or any other free-form content you write.
- Firebase Crashlytics: If the App crashes, a report containing your device model, Android version, App version, and a stack trace is sent. Reports are linked to a random anonymous install identifier, not to your name or email address. No inspection content is included.
The anonymous install identifier is created the first time you open the App and is not linked to a Google account. Firebase data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Advertising
InspectKit for Android contains no advertising. We do not use any advertising SDK and do not access your advertising ID.
5. In-App Purchases
Pro subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are processed by Google Play Billing. LynxApps never sees or stores your payment details. Google Play tells the App whether you have an active purchase so Pro features can be unlocked.
6. Exporting and Sharing
Reports are created as PDF files on your device and are shared only when you choose to share them through Android's share sheet. You can also export a backup of your inspections as a JSON file, and import it later. Backup files are created and read on your device. Nothing is sent to us during export or import.
7. Backup
The App does not use Google's automatic cloud backup or device-transfer backup. Your inspection data is kept only on the device, so we recommend exporting a JSON backup regularly if you want a copy outside the device.
8. App Permissions
- Internet: Used for Firebase analytics and crash reports, and for Google Play Billing. Inspection work does not require a connection.
- Camera and photos: Used to capture or add photos to findings. Photos stay on your device.
- Notifications: Optional. Used to send inspection reminders. Reminders are off by default, and you control them in the App and in Android Settings.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. To delete it:
- Delete individual inspections, findings, or photos inside the App.
- Clear the App's storage in Android Settings → Apps → InspectKit → Storage → Clear storage. This erases all local data.
- Uninstall the App to remove all local App data from your device.
Analytics and crash reports held by Firebase are handled under Google's retention policies. We cannot delete them for you because they are not linked to your identity.
10. Security
The App uses Android's app sandbox, which keeps its data private to the App. We recommend keeping your device locked with a PIN, password, or biometric lock.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA / Other)
- Access: All your data is on your device and visible within the App at any time.
- Deletion: Delete records in the App, clear App storage, or uninstall the App.
- No data sale: We do not sell personal data.
- Analytics: You can limit analytics and crash reporting through your Google account and device settings.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
14. Contact Us
For privacy questions or data requests, contact us:
- Email: lynxapps.contact@gmail.com
- Response time: within 2-3 business days
Privacy by design. Your findings, client details, and site photos are sensitive professional data. InspectKit keeps all of it on your device. What you inspect is your business, not ours.
