Your medication data is private. PillVault stores your data on your devices and syncs it privately through Apple iCloud when enabled. We do not require an account and we never transmit your medication information to our own servers.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how PillVault: Medication Tracker ("App"), developed by LynxApps ("we," "us," "our"), handles your information. PillVault is a personal medication tracking tool that lets you log medication names, dosages, schedules, refill dates, and dose history, and generates local reminders on your device. PillVault is available on iPhone and iPad.
By using PillVault, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
PillVault is built to be private by default. We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your location or contacts
- Your medication names, dosages, schedules, or dose history
Your medication data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to or accessed by us on any server.
3. Information Collected Automatically
To keep the App stable and improve it, limited, anonymous technical data is collected through trusted third-party services. This data never includes your medication contents.
- Crash reports - anonymous diagnostics when the app encounters an error
- Usage analytics - aggregate, anonymized information about which features are used
- Advertising identifier - only if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt
4. Third-Party Services
Google Firebase (Crashlytics & Analytics)
Collects anonymous crash reports and usage data to help us diagnose problems and improve the App. Medication contents are never included.
Google AdMob
Displays advertisements in the free version. AdMob may access an advertising identifier if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency.
Apple StoreKit
Handles in-app purchases on iOS. Payment information is provided directly to Apple - we never see or store your payment details.
5. Local Notifications
PillVault generates dose and refill reminders as local notifications on your device. These are created and delivered entirely on-device and are not processed through any external server.
6. Apple iCloud Sync
When iCloud sync is enabled, your medication data is synchronised between your iPhone and iPad using Apple iCloud. This sync is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy. We do not access or process your iCloud data on our own servers.
7. Your Choices & Controls
- Delete your data anytime within the App, or by uninstalling PillVault
- Disable iCloud sync - Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → PillVault
- Disable notifications - Settings → Notifications → PillVault
- Manage ad tracking - Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Reset your advertising identifier through your device's privacy settings
8. Children's Privacy
PillVault is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
9. Data Security
Because your medication data stays on your device, it benefits from your device's built-in security - including device encryption, passcode/Face ID/Touch ID protection. We encourage you to keep your device secured and updated.
10. Not a Medical Device
PillVault is a personal organizational tool. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always follow the instructions provided by your healthcare professional.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
