What is HonestFast?+

HonestFast is a fasting tracker for intermittent fasting and Islamic fasting. Track 16:8, 18:6, 20:4 and OMAD fasts, or use Ramadan, Qada and Sunnah fasting tools, with water tracking, streaks and a full fasting history.

What's the difference between Free and Premium?+

The free version includes the fasting timer, preset plans, metabolic stages, Ramadan mode, prayer times, water tracking, streaks and history. Premium adds custom fasting plans from 10 to 48 hours, trends and heatmaps, detailed analytics and plan performance insights.

How do I start my first fast?+

Choose a plan on the home screen, such as 16:8, and start the fast. The timer shows how long you have fasted and when your eating window opens. You can end or edit a fast at any time.

What are metabolic stages?+

Metabolic stages describe the general changes a body goes through during a fast, from the fed state to deep autophagy. HonestFast shows your current stage as the timer runs. These are general descriptions, not medical advice, and individual responses vary.

How accurate are the Ramadan and prayer times?+

Prayer times and Sehri and Iftar times are calculated on your device from your selected city or your location. They are as accurate as the calculation method and your location. If your local mosque or authority publishes different times, follow those.

Does Ramadan mode work without internet?+

Yes. Prayer time calculations, Ramadan detection and your fasting timers all run on your device, so they work without an internet connection.

Can I connect Health Connect?+

Yes, if you choose to. HonestFast asks for permission for the specific data types you approve in Health Connect, and only uses them to show insights inside the App. You can disconnect at any time.

Is my data actually private?+

Yes. Your fasting records, water logs and settings stay on your device. There are no accounts and no uploads of your fasting history. Anonymous crash reports and usage events are collected through Google Firebase. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?+

Subscriptions are managed through Google Play:

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Tap your profile icon (top right)
  3. Select Payments & subscriptions
  4. Tap Subscriptions
  5. Choose HonestFast and tap Cancel subscription

Refunds are handled by Google in accordance with Google Play policies.

What happens to my data if I cancel Premium?+

Your fasting history and records stay on your device. Premium-only features, such as custom plans and advanced analytics, become unavailable until you resubscribe.

How do I restore Premium on a new device?+

Premium is linked to your Google Play account. Install HonestFast on the new device, sign in to the Google account that made the purchase, and open the App while connected to the internet. If Premium doesn't appear, check Payments & subscriptions in Google Play.

Which languages are supported?+

HonestFast is available in English, Arabic, Urdu, Indonesian and Turkish. Change the language in Settings.

Is this a medical app?+

No. HonestFast is a personal tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not replace professional medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting a new fasting routine, especially if you have a medical condition, take medication, or are pregnant or nursing.

Troubleshooting

I'm not getting reminders

  1. Open Android Settings → Apps → HonestFast → Notifications and make sure notifications are turned on
  2. On Android 12 and later, allow exact alarms for HonestFast (Settings → Apps → Special app access → Alarms & reminders) so reminders fire on time
  3. Turn off battery optimisation for HonestFast (Settings → Apps → HonestFast → Battery), so Android doesn't delay reminders
  4. Check that Do Not Disturb isn't silencing the App

The home screen widget isn't updating

  1. Open HonestFast once, then return to the home screen
  2. Remove the widget and add it again
  3. Turn off battery optimisation for HonestFast, as above

Premium isn't showing after a purchase

  1. Make sure you're connected to the internet and reopen HonestFast
  2. Check that you're signed in to the Google account used for the purchase (Google Play → profile icon)
  3. Check Payments & subscriptions in Google Play to confirm the purchase is active
  4. If it still doesn't appear, email us with your order details and we'll help

Prayer times look wrong

  1. Check that the city shown in Ramadan settings is the one you're in
  2. If you use location, make sure location access is allowed for HonestFast
  3. Compare with your local mosque or authority, and tell us about any difference

The app is slow or won't open

  1. Force-stop the app (Settings → Apps → HonestFast → Force stop) and reopen it
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Make sure HonestFast is updated to the latest version in Google Play
