Terms of Service

Please read these terms before using Zakat Book. By downloading or using the app you agree to be bound by them.

Last updated: July 2026  ·  Effective: July 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Zakat Book ("the App"), developed by LynxApps ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Zakat Book on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, sublicense, sell, or redistribute the App.

3. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Zakat Book offers the following Premium plans:

  • Premium Monthly — $3.99/month, auto-renewing, 7-day free trial
  • Premium Yearly — $29.99/year, auto-renewing, 7-day free trial

Free trials convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Manage or cancel subscriptions via iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Prices are in USD and may vary by region. All purchases are final; refunds are governed by Apple's refund policy.

4. Free Tier Limits

The free tier allows up to 2 Zakat years and up to 5 assets per year. Single-year PDF export, payment ledger, multi-person tracking, and all 5 languages are available on the free tier. Unlimited years, unlimited assets, all-time history and charts, full PDF export (all years), CSV export, iCloud sync, advanced notifications, and an ad-free experience require a Premium subscription.

5. Not Religious or Financial Advice

Zakat Book is a personal record-keeping tool. It does not classify any asset as zakatable, non-zakatable, or disputed — that classification is entirely your responsibility based on your own religious understanding and the guidance of scholars you trust. Nothing in the App constitutes a fatwa, religious ruling, financial advice, or tax advice. Consult qualified scholars and financial professionals for guidance on your specific obligations.

6. Fiqh Neutrality

Zakat Book intentionally presents gold and silver nisab standards without endorsing either. The nisab thresholds used (85g gold, 595g silver) are commonly cited values; users should verify these against the standards they personally follow. The App makes no recommendation on which standard to use.

7. Your Data

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into Zakat Book. We do not access, collect, or sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for full details. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data permanently.

8. Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for the accuracy of all data you enter, including asset values, metal prices, nisab thresholds, and payment amounts. LynxApps is not liable for errors resulting from incorrect input or reliance on figures displayed by the App.

9. Advertising

The free tier displays banner advertisements via Google AdMob. By using the free tier you consent to the display of ads. Premium subscribers are not shown ads. Ad content is served by Google and is subject to Google's policies.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Zakat Book for any unlawful purpose, attempt to circumvent subscription enforcement, or attempt to reverse-engineer the App.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Zakat Book is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular religious or financial purpose. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. Your use of the App is at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LynxApps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Zakat Book, including loss of data or errors in Zakat calculations, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license to use Zakat Book at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must delete all copies of the App.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available at /zakatbook/terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which LynxApps operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
