Frequently asked questions
How do I add a medication?+
Tap the plus (+) button on the main screen, then enter the medication's name, form (tablet, capsule, liquid, etc.), dosage, and schedule. You can add your prescribing doctor's details, personal notes, and start and end dates for short-term courses. Save, and it appears in your medication list ready to log.
What dose schedules does PillVault support?+
PillVault supports daily, weekly, interval, and custom schedules, and you can add multiple dose times throughout the day. It also supports tablets, capsules, liquids, drops, sprays, powders, creams, patches, injections, inhalers, and more.
How do dose reminders work?+
When you add or edit a medication, set the times you take each dose. PillVault schedules reminders for each dose time as local notifications on your device. Overdue doses are also shown on the main screen.
How does refill tracking work?+
Enter your current supply for a medication and record refill dates as you go. PillVault estimates your remaining days of supply based on your dosing schedule, shows colour-coded refill status, and reminds you before your supply runs low.
I marked a dose by mistake. Can I undo it?+
Yes. After marking a dose as taken, you can undo it to reverse the entry, which keeps your dose history and adherence statistics accurate.
What is medication adherence and how does PillVault track it?+
Medication adherence is how consistently you take your prescribed medications on schedule. PillVault tracks daily, weekly, and monthly adherence, shows completed and missed doses, builds streaks, and provides a calendar view so you can see patterns at a glance. Premium unlocks advanced analytics and detailed reports.
How do medication reports work?+
PillVault can generate a detailed medication report covering your dose history, adherence analysis, calendar-based patterns, refill status, and medication information. Reports can be exported as a PDF to share with your doctor or caregiver, or as a CSV for your own records. Report generation requires Premium.
Is my medication data private?+
Your medication data is stored on your device. PillVault does not transmit your health information to our servers, and no account is required. Anonymous crash reports and usage events are collected through Google Firebase, and ads in the free version are served by Google. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Which languages are supported?+
PillVault is available in English, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
How do I restore my Premium purchase on a new device?+
Install PillVault on the new device and sign in to the same Google account that made the original purchase. Premium is linked to that Google Play account. If Premium does not appear, open the app while connected to the internet and wait a moment for Google Play to confirm your purchase.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?+
Subscriptions are managed through Google Play:
- Open the Google Play Store
- Tap your profile icon (top right)
- Select Payments & subscriptions
- Tap Subscriptions
- Choose PillVault and tap Cancel subscription or change your plan
Refunds are handled by Google in accordance with Google Play policies.
Is PillVault a medical device?+
No. PillVault is a personal medication organisation and tracking tool, not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always follow the instructions provided by your healthcare professional.
